Description
Accountable for creating monthly and weekly production requirements and inventory plans that meet demand requirements from the IBP / S&OP Planning process. Utilizes capacity analysis and customer service policies to govern schedules and finished product inventory plans. Responsible for creating and executing master scheduling time horizons and periods in accordance with business strategies and policies. May be responsible for master schedule for single or multiple plants. Works with material planners, asset schedulers, operations and unit managers, supervisors and customer service. Responsible for continuous improvement of the master scheduling process and performance.
Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Develop the weekly Master Production Schedule at the detailed level (GMID – Plant level) by translating the IBP / S&OP monthly Production Plan for the MPS horizon considering all demand and requirements for production.
Maintain and communicate a valid time-phased master schedule.
Implement, execute, and maintain Master Production Schedule (MPS) policies to ensure stability and responsiveness.
Balance Production Resources with Production Requirements
Maintain and provide valid Available to Promise (ATP) data
Identify and resolve conflicts with supply and demand and available capacity for the MPS horizon.
Utilize “what if” simulations to evaluate proposed MPS changes to determine impact and execute the approved changes effectively.
Recommend disposition of non-productive inventory for internally manufactured semi-finished and finished products
Identify options for optimization of MPS plans (cost, capacity, etc.)
Participate with manufacturing and/or technology in the structure of Material Master/BOM’s/recipes.
Key interface with sales, demand management, customer service, marketing, engineering and production for the purpose of satisfying customer requirements and providing policy advocacy to the business.
Key interface back to Master Planner and Asset Scheduler when required.
Responsible for key master production planning metrics, root cause and corrective action.
Maintains accurate data to support the master scheduling process (e.g. lead times, lot sizes, product wheel, and other operating rules and conditions).
Participate in the IBP / S&OP process and meetings as required
Facilitate the daily/weekly/monthly meetings.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s in material management, supply chain, engineering, or business degree required
3 to 5 years of experience in Supply Chain or related field
Familiar with SAP-APO-BW.
APICs CPIM certification preferred
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office – especially Excel and PowerPoint
Fluent in English
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Responsible, positive working attitude and self-motivative, being able to work under pressure
