The Master Data Officer is responsible for the creation, maintenance, governance, and continuous improvement of master data across the Finance Hub. The role ensures that master data is accurate, complete, consistent, and maintained in accordance with established governance standards to support efficient business operations, financial reporting, and compliance.
The incumbent will process master data requests within agreed service levels, perform data quality assurance activities, collaborate with internal stakeholders across multiple business functions and support continuous improvement initiatives within either the Requisition-to-Pay (R2P) or Order-to-Cash (O2C) process stream.
Create, update, and maintain master data records accurately and within agreed service levels.
Review and validate master data requests to ensure completeness and compliance with established procedures.
Monitor and maintain data quality through regular reviews, validations, and data cleansing activities.
Prepare reports and analyze master data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
Work closely with Finance, Procurement, Sales, IT, and other stakeholders to resolve master data issues.
Support master data governance, internal controls, and audit requirements.
Participate in process improvement initiatives, system enhancements, and testing activities.
Ensure compliance with the SGS Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct.
Perform any other duties assigned by the R2P/O2C Manager
Bachelor’s degree in commerce, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Information Technology, Information Systems or a related field from a recognized institution.
At least 2 years' experience in Master Data Management, Finance Operations or Shared Services.
Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle Fusion or SAP will be an added advantage.
Strong reporting and analytical capabilities.
Conscientiousness and accuracy in delivering tasks.
Competent computer skills including MS Office/Excel is an asset
Confident, autonomous, determined and able to meet key deadlines
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Good understanding of data governance and master data management principles.
