Hiring Unit:
Athletics and Recreation

Position Summary:
Under the direction of the immediate supervisor, the Martial Arts Instructor will be responsible for leading and coordinating martial arts group lessons to registered participants. These classes/courses range from beginner to advanced levels.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate martial arts group lessons.

  • Adapt lessons to the specific groups - ranging from beginners to advanced.

  • As required, modify moves/techniques for any members who may have limitations.

  • Address any emergency issues requiring attention to supervisor or security.

**MUST BE PROFICIENT IN TEACHING ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING DICIPLINES:

  • Muay Thai / Boxing / Kickboxing / Tae Kwon Do

  • Wrestling / Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu / Judo

  • Other Qualifying martial arts


Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities

  • Emergency/Standard First Aid and CPR C certification (REQUIRED)Required

  • Certification OR experience to deliver and coordinate the activity (e.g., years in training in the specific art, belt promotions)
