Job Description:

ESPN is the world’s leading sports entertainment company, guided by its mission to serve sports fans. In Australia and New Zealand, ESPN operates the ESPN and ESPN2 channels, ESPN on Disney+ and a digital network comprising ESPN.com.au, ESPNcricinfo and ESPNfootytips.

ESPN distributes an extensive portfolio of premium sports rights including the NBA, NFL, NBL and MLB.

We are looking for an experienced Marketing Manager to lead the marketing strategy and execution for ESPN across Australia and New Zealand. This 12-month fixed-term maternity cover role will play a key part in growing ESPN’s brand, audience engagement and consumer-facing platforms across broadcast, streaming, digital and social channels.

Working across ESPN, Disney+ and broader Disney teams, you will develop and deliver integrated marketing campaigns that connect sports fans with the content they love. You will lead brand and campaign strategy, manage digital and social activity, support ESPN on Disney+ marketing, collaborate with affiliates and rights partners, and oversee marketing budgets and agency relationships.

What you’ll do

  • Lead the ESPN brand and marketing strategy across Australia and New Zealand.
  • Plan and execute multi-platform campaigns across TV, digital, social, streaming and partner channels.
  • Partner with Disney+ Marketing to support ESPN on Disney+ campaigns, key sports moments and new rights launches.
  • Manage ESPN Australia/New Zealand’s social media strategy to grow reach, engagement and audience connection.
  • Collaborate with editorial, sales, programming, research, creative, finance, international marketing and agency partners.
  • Build strong relationships with affiliates, sports leagues, rights partners and external suppliers.
  • Oversee marketing budgets, vendor management, reporting and campaign optimisation.

What we’re looking for

  • 8+ years’ relevant marketing experience, ideally within media, entertainment, sport, digital or consumer brands.
  • Strong experience developing and delivering ATL, digital, social and integrated marketing campaigns.
  • A confident stakeholder manager who can influence and collaborate across local, regional and international teams.
  • Strong creative judgement, communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A passion for sport, media and entertainment, with strong awareness of the Australian and New Zealand sports landscape.
  • Experience managing budgets, agencies, suppliers and campaign reporting.

Additional Information:

This is a unique opportunity to join the talented team that develops and delivers unparalleled entertainment across Australia and New Zealand so if this role captures your imagination, then apply now!
