Job Title: Manufacturing Sustaining Test Development Engineer

Job Description
Be a key participant in driving rapid growth through manufacturing test technology and factory efficiency with primary responsibilities focused on maintaining and improving factory yields, coverage, and quality. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced self-starter who can drive activities to successful completion. The successful candidate will have a broad final test integration related background in the Computer/Server related electronic products/systems with desired emphasis on x86-based server and storage platforms and a vast level of experience working with and managing contract manufactures and RMA facilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Review, evaluate and become familiarized with ODM test plans and strategies, insuring system integration expectations are met and coverage of all major components are fulfilled.
  • Sustain automated test solutions to test/validate x86 storage and server platforms for functional test, that may include burn-in and final test/config to order (CTO) processes.
  • Update, define, and/or develop test plans and strategies that include test flow details, capacity analysis, equipment requirements, and coverage analysis.
  • Build scalable, automated test infrastructure capable of collecting product genealogy, test records, and test logs.
  • Develop test solutions to allow Contract Manufacturer to quickly and accurately analyze, troubleshoot and identify root cause failure analysis.
  • Develop data collection strategies for the monitoring of test capacity and yields
  • Drive product quality through influence of DFx and manufacturing, field failures, and RMA findings.
  • Continuously pursue/find opportunities for test improvements, test time reductions, cost.

Job Requirements
  • Manage test code development and checkins for existing products and platforms, sustaining factory operations and failure analysis.
  • Broad test related background in the Storage/Server related products/systems.
  • Ability to distinguish between HW and/or SW product issues is desirable.
  • Coordinate ECO’s for Firmware, Software, and Hardware that affect functional and systems level test equipment at the factory or field.
  • Strong problem solving, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to support and provide first level triage for all factory test related issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to present technical issues and project status to Management.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams in order to deliver objectives.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations where you are working under tight time constraints.
  • Capability to understand product specifications and features to drive appropriate testing requirements and fault detection through FMEA.

Education and Work Experience
  • BS/MS in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS or equivalent
  • Prior relevant experience with testing of x86 storage and server products
  • 5+ years direct experience with production functional test processes and developing manufacturing test software through multiple product generations
  • Knowledge of automation scripting languages: C/C++, Linux, Perl, TCL, Python and other shell scripting and automation processes. Database experience helpful.
  • Source code version control experience.
  • Microsoft Office suite skills including Visio, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
