Job description

Overview


Assembler will be working on assigned production line and will be required to follow SOP for specific job assignment. Measure, cut and assemble door units. Assist a variety of functions with manual labor tasks as needed. Works under immediate supervision.


Responsibilities


· Verify materials being used is correct by reading the bill of materials

· Ensure materials meet quality expectations

· Palletize, wrap, and label units as needed

· Assembles fabricated parts to relatively large or heavy subassemblies and complete units

· Tests and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications

· Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job

· Verifies that components are being placed in the correct position per SOP

· Repeats tasks until entire door stack is complete

· Cleans up work area when shift ends

· Maintain a safe and clean work environment

· Other duties as assigned


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:


· Ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment

· Solid verbal and written communication skills

· Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field

· Strong analytical skills & Knowledge of all door components

· Efficient with multiple manual machines and pneumatic equipment such as Nail Gun, Screw Gun, Router, Tape Measure, Square

· Required to stand and work for 8-10 hours per day

· May involve some repetitive motions - bending, stooping, squatting, pushing, and pulling of parts and part containers

· Ability to organize and maintain detailed records

· Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to multi-task

· Read and understand bill of materials

· Due to the open environment of the facility, must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions to include extreme heat, humidity, and cold

· Must be able to read a tape measure to 1/32 inch and have basic math skills

· Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

· Must demonstrate solid teamwork abilities

· Regular attendance and timeliness is an essential function of the job in order to avoid having any disruptions in production and customer service

· Follow all operational and safety SOP’s as written

· Performs other miscellaneous jobs as directed

 

Qualifications


· High School Diploma or equivalent required

· 1-2 Years in the field or related area
