Acutronic is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer Intern to join our team in Pittsburgh, PA. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the Operations Department in improving overall efficiency and standardization. Our ideal candidate will be currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering, have strong attention to detail, and an interest in optimizing manufacturing processes.

Manufacturing Engineer Intern

Your Roles/Responsibilities:

  • Meet with hiring managers and supervisors to assist in the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to ensure that quality, health, safety, and environmental requirements are met.
  • Assist in analyzing current operational processes and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement process improvements, layout optimizations, and workflow redesigns.

Your Profile/Qualifications/Skills:

  • A junior, senior, or graduate student currently working towards a Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong technical aptitude with coursework or experience in manufacturing processes and mechanical design.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze complex systems and data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Prior internship or coursework experience in manufacturing is a plus.

Position Type/Physical Demands:

  • This is a temporary, full-time position that will occur during summer break from academic studies. The company provides a ‘9/80’ or ‘4/10’ flexible schedule option.
  • Work is generally performed in a manufacturing production environment.
