Managing Director, Commercial Private Credit - Greater Tampa Bay Area

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Managing Director of Commercial Private Credit is an execution-focused role responsible for driving consistent deal flow and contributing meaningfully to the growth of a high-performing credit origination platform. This role is based in the Greater Tampa Bay area with specific coverage of Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco and Hernando counties. 

The candidate will originate, structure, and execute transactions by leveraging deep and expanding relationships with business owners, C-suite executives, private equity sponsors, financial institutions, and other key referral sources. The candidate will also have the ability to recruit talent and over time build a team in the market they cover.

The role requires the ability to independently develop and manage a robust pipeline of opportunities, deliver customized financing solutions to lower and middle-market companies (typically $10M–$150M in revenue), and ensure alignment with credit standards, structuring discipline, and return objectives.

In addition to individual production, the Director is expected to enhance market coverage, deepen key relationships, and contribute to the firm’s expanding presence in South Florida, while supporting broader team initiatives and mentoring junior professionals as needed.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Source, originate, and structure commercial private credit transactions.
• Meet monthly, quarterly and annual funding targets.
• Build relationships with companies, financial sponsors and strategic advisors.
• Execute SE Commercial Private Credit Playbook.
• Establish Libertas as a leading private credit provider in the region.
• Oversee full deal lifecycle.
• Partner with underwriting and risk teams.
• Partner with senior leadership on growth initiatives.
• Ensure adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Independently manage and consistently meet your funding targets and goals.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 10 - 20 years in commercial lending or private credit.
• Self-motivated with the ability to self-source opportunities in assigned market channel.
• Strong and proven track record of deal origination and execution.
• Deep understanding of the financial markets and alternative financing.
• Strong written and oral communications skills required.
• Ability to work well with a variety of people at all levels of the organization.
• Strong Greater Tampa Bay market network.

 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree required; in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field preferred.
• MBA Preferred

 

Salary Range: $175K-$225K
