About the Role

Patch is seeking a new MD to lead Patch. To continue building an organisation that is the best in the world at identifying and supporting high-potential young people. In this leadership role, you will continue to support our existing programmes but emphasise the creation of new ones. You will be supported by a dedicated group of world-class colleagues, including Patch alumni, some of the world’s fastest-growing companies and globally successful founders.

Your role is unique: it will dictate the direction & culture of Patch for years to come.

About Patch

Patch exists to identify and support high-potential youth. We find young people with the potential to be globally impactful leaders in technology, science and business and help them realise that potential. Our primary activity is our annual summer accelerator, a 7-week-long programme for 16 – 21 year olds.

  • Operations/Logistics: You are comfortable being the ultimate owner of all logistics and key deliverer of initiatives.

  • STEM Knowledge: Science, technology, hardware, startups, innovation - You care about these areas and can demonstrate specialised knowledge within one or more of these areas.

What You’ll Do

  • Strategy: Determine new ways to achieve our mission, assess opportunities, and plan & implement initiatives.
  • Annual Planning: Allocate Patch’s resources (personnel, attention, funding) to planned activities.
  • Management: Manage team members, volunteers and partners in delivering Patch programmes.
  • Stakeholder Management: Liaise with the Patch Board, funders and other partners.
  • Summer Accelerator: Oversee the Summer Accelerator and work directly with the programme director to ensure excellence in delivery.
  • Fundraising: Work with the Patch Board to identify funding sources and secure funding as required.

Who You’ll Work With

  • Patch Team: You’ll be supported by an operational Programme Manager, volunteers, and the Patch Board.
  • Mentors: You’ll work directly with mentors that support Patch, e.g. Mark Cummins (Pointy) & Des Traynor (Intercom).
  • Partners: Dogpatch Labs, Stripe, Intercom, OpenAI, Manna, Pioneer and other leading companies & organisations.
  • Alumni: 120 brilliant alumni who can volunteer their time and energy to support Patch.
