The QA Manager will be responsible for leading QA planning, execution, automation strategy, defect management, team coordination, and quality reporting across projects and platforms. This role will manage QA delivery across manual testing, automation testing, API testing, database testing, performance testing, production support, and release validation.

The QA Manager will work closely with business, product, development, technology, and leadership teams to ensure applications and platforms meet quality, reliability, scalability, security, and compliance expectations.

What Work You Will Be Responsible For

QA Strategy and Planning

  • Lead QA planning, estimation, execution, and delivery across assigned technology projects, platforms, and releases.

  • Define and oversee test strategy, test plans, test scenarios, test cases, test data, and QA execution approach.

  • Establish release-readiness criteria, testing milestones, QA timelines, quality gates, and risk-based testing priorities.

  • Align QA strategy with project goals, business priorities, technology architecture, and release timelines.

  • Ensure QA activities are appropriately planned across functional, regression, integration, system, API, database, performance, and production validation testing.

Test Execution and Automation Oversight

  • Manage manual and automated testing activities across assigned projects and platforms.

  • Drive automation strategy and ensure appropriate automation coverage using Selenium WebDriver, Java/JavaScript, JUnit, Robot Framework, or similar tools.

  • Review automation frameworks, test scripts, test execution results, and QA documentation for quality, consistency, maintainability, and coverage.

  • Oversee database testing, SQL validation, SOAP/REST API testing, XML/JSON validation, and integration testing activities.

  • Guide load, performance, scalability, security, compliance, and high-availability testing efforts.

Defect Management and Release Quality

  • Lead defect management, including defect reporting, triage, prioritization, tracking, escalation, retesting, and closure.

  • Manage QA support for production issues, including issue analysis, root-cause support, fix validation, and post-release quality review.

  • Ensure test evidence, QA sign-offs, defect status, automation results, and release-readiness reports are complete and accurate.

  • Identify quality risks, testing gaps, open defects, dependencies, and release blockers.

  • Provide recommendations to leadership on release readiness, residual risk, and quality outcomes.

Stakeholder Management and Reporting

  • Partner with development, business, product, and technology teams throughout the project testing lifecycle.

  • Coordinate QA activities across Agile teams, including sprint testing, regression cycles, release testing, and production readiness validation.

  • Establish QA metrics and dashboards covering test execution progress, defect trends, automation coverage, release readiness, risks, and quality outcomes.

  • Communicate QA status, risks, issues, dependencies, and recommendations to project partners, technology leadership, and business stakeholders.

  • Support governance discussions, project reviews, and leadership updates related to quality, testing progress, and delivery risks.

Team Leadership and Process Improvement

  • Coach, mentor, and guide QA Developers and Senior QA Developers on testing standards, automation practices, documentation, and stakeholder communication.

  • Support hiring, onboarding, performance feedback, capacity planning, and skill development for QA team members.

  • Identify process gaps and drive improvements in testing methodology, automation practices, defect management, test data management, and release quality.

  • Promote continuous improvement, quality ownership, collaboration, and accountability across QA and technology delivery teams.

  • Establish and maintain QA processes, templates, standards, and best practices across assigned workstreams.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 8+ years of experience in quality assurance, software testing, test automation, or related technology roles.

  • 2+ years of experience leading QA teams, workstreams, or project-level QA delivery.

  • Strong analytical, leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and documentation skills.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience defining and managing test strategies, test plans, test cases, test data, defect reports, and QA status reporting.

  • Experience leading QA execution across manual testing, automation testing, API testing, database testing, regression testing, and release validation.

  • Experience managing defect lifecycle activities, including triage, prioritization, tracking, escalation, retesting, and closure.

  • Experience coordinating with business, development, product, and technology teams across the project testing lifecycle.

  • Working experience with Selenium, WebDriver, JUnit, Java, JavaScript, Core Java, Web Services, HTML, XML, SQL, and JSON.

  • Experience with SOAP and REST API testing tools.

  • Experience managing app-based automation testing.

  • Experience with Agile test methodologies.

  • Working knowledge of SDLC, STLC, release management, and production support processes.

  • Strong understanding of quality metrics, risk-based testing, test coverage, release-readiness criteria, and QA governance.

  • Experience managing QA execution across multiple releases, projects, or workstreams.

  • Ability to communicate QA risks, quality trends, release readiness, and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders.

  • Experience coaching, mentoring, or guiding QA team members.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with load, performance, scalability, availability, security, and compliance testing.

  • Experience verifying highly available systems for performance, effectiveness, growth, scaling, security, and compliance requirements.

  • Prior participation in a complete ground-up product deployment.

  • Knowledge of JIRA, Zephyr, Robot Framework, or similar QA/test management tools.

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar DevOps tools.

  • Experience with test automation framework design and maintenance.

  • Exposure to cloud-based applications, SaaS platforms, or enterprise applications.
