What You Will Do

Core Responsibilities

  • Act as procurement Point of Contact in NPI development;
  • Ensure expedient and compliant implementation of contracts throughout NPI project development (master agreements and SoWs etc.).
  • Achieve NPI project best Total Cost of Ownership upfront, in collaboration with stakeholders based on market insights, industrial benchmarks and best practices.
  • Lead product RFQ/RFP/RFI throughout NPI development
  • Actively participate and support NPI development by ensuring sourcing and procurement deliverables at each milestone with high quality on time.
  • Actively source, evaluate and identify market trends and new technologies, make appropriate fact-based recommendations for adoption by HARMAN stakeholders, to support building product roadmap.
  • Support managing strong vendor relationships, effectively manage category supply base, perform advanced and intricate negotiations, and support the selection of key vendors.
  • Support managing vendor and internal performance (Supplier Performance Scorecard) against contracts, industry benchmarks, and previous baselines on a regular basis (QBR).
  • Actively support and / or lead NPI development by securing sourcing deliverables with supplier selection, contracts (SoW) negotiation and continuous cost improvements.
  • Support product lifecycle management from NPI till end-of-life
  • Coordinate and work with both corporate and regional stakeholders to standardize corporate-wide product specifications and establish and implement long-term strategic goals to continually enhance HARMAN’s market position.
  • Develop and deliver good quality management reports and present with senior management.

What You Need to Be Successful

  • Self-driven and business centric
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business Administration.
  • Minimum 8+ years of sourcing and procurement experience.
  • Prior experience in sourcing and negotiating direct materials in a consumer electronics environment using strategic category management techniques to achieve results.
  • Must possess the social intelligence to influence and lead at the senior levels within the organization.
  • 8+ years of direct materials sourcing experience from new Product Development through End of Life.
  • Proven record in successfully using benchmarking and cost analysis tools to deliver negotiation outcomes to exceed the market index.
  • Solid experiences in supplier sourcing, supplier performance management, negotiation, contract development/analysis, supplier evaluation, price/cost analysis.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation abilities.
  • Solid understanding of risk management techniques.
  • Excellent market research and trend analysis skills.
  • Strong strategic/long-range planning skills.
  • Good financial analysis skills.
