Job description

[What the role is]

The Manager (Corporate) supports the North West CDC in building and sustaining partnerships with corporate, community, and government stakeholders to bring tangible resources and programmes to residents, fostering a caring and united community.

The role involves identifying community needs, mobilising partners, and co-creating initiatives that strengthen social cohesion and residents' sense of belonging across the district.

Working closely with grassroots organisations, community volunteers, and district partners, the incumbent contributes to the design and delivery of projects and programmes that make a meaningful difference to the North West community.

[What you will be working on]

  • Work closely with the Senior Manager to formulate, implement, and review district-level CDC and cross-segment plans, programmes, and projects to achieve community goals for the North West district.
  • Identify, develop, and maintain partnerships with corporate organisations, community groups, schools, social service agencies, government bodies, and non-government organisations to co-create programmes and initiatives that advance the CDC's community goals.
  • Support the formulation and review of workplans and programme proposals, including preparation of concept papers, budget submissions, and progress reports to enable timely and informed decision-making by management and standing committees.
  • Guide and support community volunteers and organisations in delivering ground-up projects by administering grants and monitoring fund utilisation, to strengthen the relevance and effectiveness of community-led initiatives across the district.
  • Plan and execute community events to increase resident participation in CDC programmes and strengthen the CDC's visibility across the district.
  • Manage corporate and individual donor relationships by overseeing membership recruitment, organising appreciation and networking events, and providing secretariat support to sustain and grow the donor network in support of CDC programmes.
  • Manage procurement and administrative processes for outreach and partnership activities to ensure timely delivery and compliance with government financial guidelines.
  • Represent the CDC at PA Headquarters, CCC meetings, community events, inter-agency meetings, and stakeholder engagements to strengthen the CDC's network and profile in the district, and submit relevant progress reports to facilitate communication and coordination between the Council and PA.

[What we are looking for]

Experience:

At least 1 to 3 years of relevant working experience in community engagement, partnership development, outreach, or a related field; experience working with grassroots organisations or government agencies is an advantage.

Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders including residents, community leaders, and corporate partners.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft proposals, reports, and presentations clearly and concisely.
  • Organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects and administrative tasks accurately and within deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Willingness to work on weekends and evenings as required for community events and programmes.
  • Knowledge of a second language (e.g., Mandarin, Malay, Tamil) to support engagement with residents whose preferred language is not English.
