Job Description Summary

The Facility Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment within the facility. This role ensures all electrical components operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable codes and regulations.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, wiring, fixtures, and equipment
  • Diagnose electrical issues using testing devices such as voltmeters, multimeters, Oscilloscopes, Etc.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems and machinery
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and national electrical codes
  • Respond promptly to electrical emergencies and system failures
  • Inspect electrical components such as transformers, circuit breakers, and panelboards, and MCC’s
  • Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to support facility needs
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
  • Follow all safety procedures and regulations
  • Perform other mechanical / plumbing maintenance tasks as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification preferred
  • Valid electrician license or certification (as required by local regulations)
  • Minimum 5 years experience as an electrician in an industrial, commercial, or facility setting
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, hand tools, and power tools
  • Ability to read technical documents and drawings
  • Familiarity with safety standards and electrical codes (e.g., NEC)
  • Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

Work Environment

  • Industrial or commercial facility setting
  • May require shift work, weekends, or on-call availability
