Programs include inpatient interventions, jail-based evaluations, supervised group home and residential programs, forensic evaluation, care, custody, and aftercare; intermediate and long-term psychiatric are in coordination with the total system of care in Louisiana </p><p style="margin: 15px 0; color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0; text-align: center">ELMHS is looking for a skilled and motivated individual to join the team in the Maintenance Department. Here the work can comes in a range of different varieties from carpentry to HVAC. The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining hospital grounds and facilities by operating landscaping equipment, performing groundskeeping tasks, completing basic repairs in plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC/refrigeration, and painting, maintaining equipment.</p><span style="color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 1); font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">Two years of experience or training in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance; OR</span><br style="color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 1); font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><br style="color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 1); font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 1); font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">Completion of a two-year vocational technical program in general building construction, construction technology, or engineering; OR</span><br style="color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 1); font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><br style="color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 1); font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 1); font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">Twelve semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering, or any combination of these courses.</span>The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found <a href="https://apps01.civilservice.louisiana.gov/onestopjobinfo/DisplayJobSpec.aspx?JobCode=128640" target="_blank"><u>here</u></a>.<p style="margin: 15px 0; color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><u>Job Duties: </u></p><p style="margin: 15px 0; color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">In this role, you will:</p><ul style="padding-left: 2rem; margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 3pt; color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><li>Be responsible for the upkeep and appearance of the hospital grounds.</li><li>Must be able to operate all power and handheld equipment such as: Weed eaters, weed trimmers, lawn mowers both riding and push, chainsaws, power edgers, power blowers, etc. </li><li>Duties include but are not limited to: cutting grass and weed-eating around stationary structures, trimming the hedges, picking up branches that have fallen out of trees, and, at times, cutting limbs out of trees.</li><li>Make repairs in the following fields:<ol style="padding-left: 2rem; margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>Plumbing: Unstop commodes and sinks, repair water & sewer lines, etc.</li><li>Carpentry: Repair broken furniture, re-hang entrance door and cabinet doors, hang bulletin boards, pictures, etc.</li><li>Electrical: Change light bulbs; replace receptacles, switches, repair small appliances, washers, dryers, change out ballast, etc.</li><li>HVAC/Refrigeration: clean and replace air conditioner and heating filters, change out heat strips in A/C with heater units, make repair to window A/C.</li><li>Painting: Preparing surfaces before painting i.e., scraping off old paint, filling in holes, etc.</li></ol></li><li>Maintain a valid, unencumbered driver’s license. </li></ul><p style="margin: 15px 0; color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><u>Position-Specific Details:</u></p><p style="margin: 15px 0; color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><strong style="font-weight: 700">Appointment Type:</strong> WAE (not to exceed 1,245 hours in a 12-month period).</p><p style="margin: 15px 0; color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><u>How To Apply:</u></p><p style="margin: 15px 0; color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><strong style="font-weight: 700">No Civil Service test score </strong>is required in order to be considered for this vacancy. </p><p style="margin: 15px 0; color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">To apply for this vacancy, click on the “Apply” link above and complete an electronic application, which can be used for this vacancy as well as future job opportunities.
