Basic Job Functions:

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

  • At Nucor, safety is our top priority. We are looking for dedicated individuals who can uphold our safety standards while effectively supporting our operations. 
  • Safety First: Lead by example in always following and promoting safety policies and procedures 
  • Maintenance of processing equipment, to include cleaning as needed:
  • Help identify worn, damaged, or unsafe equipment conditions
  • Assist with welding, cutting, fabrication, and mechanical repairs as needed
  • Perform hands-on maintenance and repair work on shredder-related equipment
  • Team Collaboration: Support fellow team members and assist with various tasks as needed to achieve our goals.
  • Customer Service: Assist and guide customers to the appropriate locations for unloading materials.

Pay starts at $20-$24

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience in working outdoors.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Strong verbal communication skills for effective interaction with teammates and customers.
  • Ability to work well in a team setting.
  • Monday to Friday: 6 AM - 4 PM- Occasional Saturdays: 6 AM - 12 PM (as needed during critical repairs and maintenance)

     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with heavy equipment and manufacturing is preferred.
  • Bilingual candidates (Spanish) are encouraged to apply.
