[What the role is]

We are seeking a dynamic, motivated and experienced individual with strong analytical and communication skills to join the Commercial Arrangements (Cross Border & Local Arrangements) team in Policy Division. The team plays a key role in formulating our land transport strategies and policies and spearheading new strategic initiatives.

[What you will be working on]

We are seeking a dynamic, motivated and experienced individual with strong analytical and communication skills to join the Commercial Arrangements (Cross Border & Local Arrangements) team in Policy Division. The team plays a key role in formulating our land transport strategies and policies and spearheading new strategic initiatives. The team’s responsibilities include:

  • Formulating commercial and regulatory policies for new rail projects in LTA, which includes the appointment of the operator for: (i) domestic rail lines, such as the Cross Island Line (CRL); and (ii) the Singapore Rail Test Centre (SRTC); and

  • Formulating policies for the Johor-Bahru Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link and is responsible for driving bilateral engagement with Malaysia on the commercial front for the RTS Link project.

As part of the portfolio, you will be required to work closely with stakeholders in LTA, the Ministry of Transport and other agencies within the Singapore Government on the development and implementation of these projects.

You will also be expected to lead individual work pieces or teams in coming up with these polices for domestic rail projects and cross-border work.

[What we are looking for]

  • Knowledge in any discipline, preferably in Economics, Engineering, Business Administration, or Science / Social Science

  • Possess the drive and resourcefulness to produce innovative solutions to address policy issues.

  • Able to think critically, write concisely, and present clearly, with keen interest in analysis of economic trends and data

  • Highly adaptable, able to work independently and under pressure to deliver within tight timelines, and multi-task in a dynamic environment

  • Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel

  • Knowledge or experience in finance or commercial procurement will be an advantage
