This position, under the direction of the Warehouse Manager, assists with meeting the demands of on-time delivery of product to customers, processing shipments in a timely manner to ensure adequate packing time, loading time and invoicing.

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for scheduling trucks and seeing that products ship for deliveries on time for the assigned customer.  They are responsible for determining the number of loads volumes and make adjustments where and when necessary.  They assist in assessing loads versus manpower availability to balance shift requirements.  Logistics Coordinators must understand customer demands and be able to determine which orders to apply parts to when obtaining parts for customer shortage lists.

Responsibilities:

• Under broad supervision, furnishes rates, freight descriptions, and other technical transportation information to assigned company facilities to ensure shipments of materials, goods in process, or finished goods are made in the most cost-effective way to the company
• Research and correct any shipping errors or audit transportation invoices to ensure that correct charges have been applied
• Make comparative freight rate analyses in order to determine the best possible options for securing needed transportation services
• Ensures picks are completed for warehouse packing
• Facilitates Customer special projects and remodel orders
• Troubleshoots shortages on deployments to maximize customer service
• Communicate with customer service on expedites, shortages and any additional customer related issues
• Responsible for customer load routing
• Creates the van dispatch schedule to meet customer MABD
• Complete daily small package shipments

Education & Experience:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• 3 years’ experience in shipping, traffic or logistics
• Experience in a distribution/warehouse environment
