A successful Logistics Associate will have knowledge in or be able to achieve the Job Qualifications below.
Logistics Associate 1:
As a Logistics Associate you will be required to effectively perform a combination of manual and clerical shipping and receiving duties. This includes using a computer system for tracking, logging, verifying and reporting. A logistics associate 1 is expected to become fully trained and competent in one of the following core areas: Shipping, Receiving, Materials cage. Duties to include, but not all inclusive or limited to: Following shipping practices and procedures, transportation routing, schedules and requirements. Receiving incoming materials or preparing materials for shipment. (Un)packs or (un)wraps items such as finished products, raw stock, assemblies, parts, building materials, office supplies, equipment, etc. Verifying quantity, weight, and conformance of materials to stated identifications: logs receipt of items on system, processes freight bills, packing sheets, and other documents: reports materials shipped and bills of lading: posts weight and shipping charges and routes merchandise to destinations.
Education/Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 0-1 year of experience
Essential Functions, Knowledge and Competencies
- Good Communication skills (verbal and written)
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision
- Must be able to occasionally lift as much as 50 lbs.
- Ability to lift 125 pounds with assistance
- Must be able to distinguish colors and shades
- Strong proficiency in basic mathematical concepts for inventory tracking
- Must have correctable vision to 20/20
- Computer skills (Word, Excel)
- Must be able to read and interpret customer drawings
- Must understand the proper use of, and limitations of, standard inspection measuring and test equipment
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time (8-10 hours or more); frequent bending and twisting
- Assure PMs are done on time and signed off in MC Express
- Line Clearance
- Other duties assigned as needed
Responsibility/Authority
- Alert immediate supervisor of any problems in process or work cell
- Handling/packaging parts to prevent damage
- Maintain a neat and orderly work area
- Authorized to stop the process upon the detection of a nonconformance or safety issue
- Maintaining an acceptable standard of personal appearance and cleanliness
- Maintaining lot control on all parts within responsible inventories
Receiving Responsibilities
- Promptly notify Logistics personnel of material issues that may affect orders
- Daily shipments to vendors and suppliers
- Aiding purchasing team in communication with vendors
- Generate purchase orders for outside process vendors
- Receive all purchased items
Materials Cage Responsibilities
- Ship raw material to vendors as needed
- Raw material inspection per established requirements
- Aiding purchasing team in communication with vendors
- Maintain and control accurate inventories (in-inspection, stock, receiving inspection, material review)
- Issue materials to work orders
Shipping Responsibilities
- Maintain and control accurate inventories (Finished Goods)
- Close work orders
- Maintain lot control on all parts within responsible inventories
- Promptly notifying Customer Service personnel if shipments are short of what customer ordered
- Daily shipments to customers
- Generate packing lists and labels for product shipping to customers
