Livestock Supervisor - Livestock Farming | Angola

Apt Resources is pleased to share an exciting opportunity for a Livestock Supervisor based in Angola. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising day-to-day livestock operations, including animal health, productivity, pasture management, and general farm maintenance. This role involves working closely with pastoral leaders and herdsmen to ensure smooth implementation of the farm’s strategic livestock plan and the achievement of operational objectives.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise livestock farming activities, ensuring optimal productivity and animal health.
• Monitor and control herd inventory, ensuring accurate records of entries, exits, and stock movements.
• Manage pasture allocation across paddocks, inspect fields for pests, diseases, and degradation, and recommend corrective actions.
• Conduct feasibility studies for pasture recovery and revitalization projects.
• Monitor and report key performance indicators, preparing data and presentations for the Livestock Manager.
• Oversee the general maintenance of livestock facilities and equipment.
• Support recruitment, training, and development of farm staff, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and use of PPE.
• Enforce company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Operate farm vehicles and ride horses when required.

Requirements

• Diploma or degree in Veterinary Medicine, Animal Husbandry, Agronomy, or related fields (preferred).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of sanitary management, pasture and nutritional management, and animal reproduction.
• Proficiency in MS Office and farm management systems.
• Valid driving license (categories A and B).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
