JOB SUMMARY
A Lift Planner primarily provides support to sales, operations, and engineering teams by developing standard and critical load handling plans for heavy lift and transport operations to identify/mitigate risk and communicate the scope and associated risk points to PLR teams and customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop standard critical load handling plans in accordance with PLR SOPs, industry standards, and customer requirements.
Developing plans includes collaborating with sales, operations, and engineering teams to:
- Identify scope and potential hazards.
- Evaluate the best means to complete the scope while eliminating/mitigating hazards to acceptable levels.
- Establish and communicate a lift plan that leads to a safe and controlled lift.
Utilize industry software and tools to document and communicate plans including:
- Crane, rigging, and equipment analysis and layout using 3D lift planner, CAD, and Bluebeam.
- Outrigger load and ground bearing pressure analysis using manufacturers and PLR calculators.
- Compile drawings, certifications, and other documentation using Bluebeam and Microsoft Office.
Support Engineers during the process of creating engineering packages include.
- Preliminary CAD Models, Concept Drawings, and/or associated calculations.
- Various revisions to documents as required.
- Perform preliminary checks on drawings for content and format compliance before final review by an engineer.
Travel to job sites to perform pre-job walks for solution development and to assist with field execution.
Develop working knowledge of existing ProLift heavy lift and specialty rigging equipment.
Possess an understanding of applicable industry and company-specific drawing standards (e.g. ASME) and help to ensure all work is in accordance.
Develop proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D Lift Planner.
Provide technical assistance and workflow guidance to other lift planners within the company.
Develop proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D Lift Planner.
Develop relationships with PLR personnel, customers, and vendors.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3–10 years of qualifying experience in crane and rigging lift planning.
- Experience in CAD, 3D lift planner, and other lift planning software/tools.
- Competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for documentation and reporting.
- Strong communication skills for reporting, documenting, and communicating with stakeholders or team members. Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with field personnel, engineers, and project managers. Ability to accurately incorporate design revisions and update associated documents for consistency.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Willingness and ability to visit job sites occasionally and work in outdoor and potentially hazardous environments, which may involve standing, walking, crawling, climbing ladders or scaffolding, and lifting moderate weights.
- Flexibility to work long hours/weekends as needed.
- Must pass a drug test, fit for duty and background.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Technology, Associates Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or a related CAD-focused degree or certificate program. Minimum GPA 3.0
