Job Description:

  • Coordinates and provides quality patient-focused care in a physician’s clinic.
  • Places patients in the examining room and ensures their comfort.
  • Performs patient intake entry, obtains vital signs, and documents patient information.
  • Assists physicians with examinations, treatments, and office surgeries.
  • Performs phlebotomy and laboratory tests as required, adhering to state and federal regulations.
  • Screens telephone calls, takes accurate clinical messages, and answers routine patient inquiries.
  • Performs triage duties according to practice protocols.
  • Ensures exam room equipment is clean and properly set up before each patient encounter.
  • Manages sterilization of non-disposable instruments and maintains appropriate logs.
  • Prepares and administers medications and immunizations as directed by the provider.
  • Handles medication and prescription questions, refill calls, and ensures accurate documentation.
  • Obtains insurance prior authorizations for medications and communicates changes to providers and patients.
  • Follows CDC isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of PPE, performs hand hygiene according to policy, and enforces safety regulations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Use of Computers, telephone, fax machine, copier, stethoscope, EKG machine, pulse oximeter, oxygen devices, wheelchairs, stretchers, scales, glucose monitor, and other patient care equipment necessary to perform required duties as appropriate to the scope of the practice. [Required]
  • Proficiency must be attained via on-the-job training, and orientation, [Preferred]


Education:

  • Associate [Preferred]
  • High School Grad or Equiv [Required]


Field of Study:

  • Associates Degree or equivalent specific to Licensed Practice Nurse preferred


Work Experience:

  • 1+ position related experience [Preferred]


Licenses and Certifications:

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) [Required]
  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]

Pay Range:

$20.97 - $38.99
