The University Writing Program at Brandeis University invites applications for an adjunct instructor to teach one section of the Composition Seminar (CSEM 1a) in Fall 2026. The Composition Seminar is a one-semester foundational writing course that strengthens students’ writing skills and prepares them for the First-Year Seminar and other courses across the Brandeis curriculum. The course meets on Tuesdays and Fridays, from 9:35 to 10:55 AM.  

Candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to, and excellence in, undergraduate teaching as well as experience teaching first-year writing. Interested individuals should submit a cover letter, CV, a sample writing course syllabus, and names and contact information for two references. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.

This appointment is to a position that is in a collective bargaining unit represented by SEIU Local 509.

The compensation for this course is $8764.20.
