Lean Engineer (6-Month Contract)

Location: Johannesburg, Alrode/Isando 

Work Arrangement: Onsite

What you’ll do

  • Continuous Improvement Execution: Lead and execute continuous improvement programs across the business value chain, focusing on optimizing end-to-end flows, reducing waste, and improving quality. 
  • Strategic Alignment: Drive continuous improvement initiatives that support and align with organizational strategic goals, ensuring measurable impact on business performance. 
  • WINS Framework Management: Manage and enhance the adoption of the Weir Integrated Network System (WINS) framework within the EMEA region to standardize work and improve operational efficiency. 
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Utilize data analysis techniques to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement; produce high-quality reports and deliver oral and written presentations to stakeholders. 
  • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.

What you’ll bring

Must-haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or related field with proven experience applying Lean tools and methodologies. 
  • 3–5 years’ experience leading continuous improvement programs in an enterprise environment, including Value Stream Mapping, Root Cause Analysis, Cost Management, TPM, Problem Solving, and Six Sigma projects. 
  • Strong skills in creating dashboards and visually interactive reports using Microsoft Power Platform. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems; SAP knowledge is an added advantage. 

Nice-to-haves: 

  • Experience facilitating process improvements in back-office functions.
