Job description

Acme is a premium streaming TV destination that seeks to captivate and connect viewers with the stories they love. We create amazing experiences that celebrate the best of entertainment and technology. We’re looking for great people who are passionate about redefining TV through innovation, unconventional thinking and embracing fun. It’s a mission that takes some serious smarts, intense curiosity and determination to be the best. Come be part of the team that’s powering play.

SUMMARY

With thousands of advertisers and over a billion ads served per month, Acme maintains one of the largest video ad serving systems on the Internet. Before being served to a Acme viewer, each one of these ads goes through a sophisticated workflow involving sales and planning, targeting, trafficking, and quality control, to deliver maximum value to our advertisers while maintaining an engaging overall experience for Acme viewers. The Advertising Tools team builds the tools that enable our ad sales and operations teams to efficiently and effectively manage this workflow. We utilize a diverse array of languages and frameworks to build elegant and easy-to-use front-end interfaces and efficient, powerful, and robust backend systems.

We are seeking a Software Development Lead to lead this team in designing and developing our next generation of advertising tools. You will work closely with our internal users to understand their processes and design tools that will further streamline and automate their daily work. You will lead a team of software engineers by establishing best practices, encouraging adoption of new development methodologies, and ensuring timely delivery of new features and enhancements to our existing toolset.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Mix of leadership and hands-on involvement to design, develop, test and deploy Acme’s next-generation advertising tools
  • Work closely with program management to estimate, plan and deliver in an agile environment
  • Establish best practices for development that will improve overall software quality while maximizing developer efficiency for you and your team
  • Collaborate with other software development leads and senior engineers to improve the overall system architecture, focusing on integration points between advertising tools and the rest of the system
  • Advocate for users of our platform by leading the design of innovative and easy-to-use interfaces
  • Recruit, hire and mentor software engineers

WHAT TO BRING

  • B.S. in Computer Science (or equivalent degree or work experience)
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on development experience, including both front-end and back-end development
  • Minimum of 2 years in an existing lead or senior role
  • Proven track record of consistently delivering high-quality software and usable web or mobile applications
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of software engineering practices and agile approaches
  • Strong desire for establishing and improving product quality
  • Willingness to take challenges head on, while being part of a team
  • Experience with AngularJS, GWT, or other modern front-end development frameworks
