Job Description Summary

Some of the most critical decisions in a steam turbine outage happen on the ground — and the person making them sets the standard for every outcome that follows. As a Lead Services Specialist - Field Svc Technical Advising specialising in steam turbines, you will take full ownership of outage planning and execution across GE Vernova's own fleet and other Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) fleets, with direct accountability for Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) performance at every site.
This is a senior field role built for someone who has spent years leading complex steam turbine overhauling outages, knows what it takes to manage teams, customers, and timelines under pressure, and is ready to take that expertise to the highest level of site accountability.

Job Description

What You'll Do

  • Own end-to-end steam turbine outage execution — from planning through close-out and lessons-learned — across fossil, nuclear, and combined cycle power plants, including retrofit and upgrade installation scopes

  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional site teams including field engineers, craft labor, vendors, and support agencies, with full accountability for Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) compliance, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery

  • Drive technical troubleshooting and organise solutions for operational issues identified by thermal power utilities, working in close consultation with the Steam Turbine (ST) Product Services team

  • Manage customer relationships on-site throughout each outage cycle, including launching Customer Satisfaction Surveys and developing improvement action plans in alignment with the Contract Fulfilment team

  • Align with Turbine Product Service teams on parts and spares requirements for outage execution, and apply Technical Information Letters (TILs) and lessons learned from product centres to continuous improvement in the field

  • Maintain rigorous control of schedule and cost baselines, ensuring all assignments are delivered within agreed timelines and financial parameters

Who You Are

You are a seasoned steam turbine field professional with deep technical knowledge, strong site leadership experience, and the presence to manage teams, customers, and complex execution challenges simultaneously. You are comfortable working remotely with extensive travel as a core part of the role.

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.E. or B.Tech.) from an accredited university or college

  • At least 10 years of on-site experience executing steam turbine overhauls, with a minimum of 3 years in a Site Lead or Site In-Charge capacity

  • Proven ability to lead site execution teams through complex outages and retrofit installations on units of 100 MW and above

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal teams and external customers

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Preferred

  • Experience with other-OEM steam turbine fleet outages and retrofit scopes

  • Familiarity with scheduling tools such as MS Project or Primavera P6

  • Exposure to the full outage execution lifecycle: planning, site mobilisation, execution with vendors, outage closure, feedback, and business development support

Work Arrangement

Your home location serves as your base. This role requires extensive travel to thermal power stations across India for outage planning, implementation, and execution. Occasional international travel to overseas outage sites for execution support may also be required.
