 Job Title: Lead Pipeline Engineer            

KBR is growing its Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team for an exciting, high profile offshore development in Abu Dhabi. The ADNOC PMC project role would be based initially in Client or Contractors Office in Abu Dhabi.

Job Purpose

The Lead Pipeline Engineer is responsible for leading the engineering, design, integrity management, and execution of offshore and onshore pipeline projects for ADNOC Offshore. The role ensures that pipeline systems are designed, constructed, operated, and maintained in compliance with ADNOC standards, international codes, safety requirements, and project objectives related to cost, quality, and schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering & Design Leadership

  • Lead the conceptual, FEED, detailed engineering, and execution phases of pipeline projects.
  • Manage the design of offshore and subsea pipelines, risers, flowlines, and associated facilities.
  • Review and approve pipeline routing, wall thickness calculations, stress analysis, and hydraulic studies.
  • Ensure compliance with ADNOC standards, API, ASME, DNV, ISO, and other applicable international codes.
  • Support material selection, corrosion studies, cathodic protection, and integrity management programs.

Project Management

  • Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities with process, mechanical, civil, structural, instrumentation, and HSE teams.
  • Monitor engineering deliverables, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Provide technical guidance during procurement, fabrication, installation, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities.
  • Participate in technical bid evaluations and contractor selection processes.

Pipeline Integrity & Operations Support

  • Develop and implement pipeline integrity management strategies.
  • Review inspection reports, fitness-for-service assessments, and risk-based inspection studies.
  • Lead root cause analysis for pipeline failures or operational issues.
  • Recommend corrective and preventive actions to ensure safe and reliable operation.

HSE & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with ADNOC HSE policies and procedures.
  • Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, RAM, and other safety studies.
  • Promote a strong safety culture across all project phases.
  • Ensure environmental and regulatory requirements are fully met.

Stakeholder Management

  • Interface with ADNOC management, contractors, consultants, and third-party agencies.
  • Provide technical presentations and reports to senior management.
  • Mentor and develop junior pipeline engineers and technical staff.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Pipeline Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Master's Degree is an advantage.
  • Professional Engineer (PE), Chartered Engineer (CEng), or equivalent certification preferred.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in pipeline engineering within the oil and gas industry.
  • At least 5 years in a lead or supervisory engineering role.
  • Extensive experience in offshore pipeline projects, subsea systems, and brownfield modifications.
  • Proven experience in FEED, EPC, and offshore installation projects.
  • Middle East and ADNOC project experience preferred.
