Job description

Lead Instructor – Hemodialysis Technician Program 

 

Education:       

·         Bachelor’s degree or higher in related field.

 

Professional:                                 

·         Professional certification in dialysis.

·         Must be currently certified through BONENT, ANNA, or NNCO.

 

Experience:            

·         Must have a minimum of four years of dialysis experience.

·         2000 hours in the last three years in clinical work.

·         Teaching and curriculum development experience preferred.

 

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

1.      Maintain open communication with Program Director.

2.      Provide classroom, lab and/or clinical instruction based on school and program policies.

3.      Work collaboratively with Director of Education in development of course schedule, syllabi, lesson plans, and instructional material for each assigned course.

4.      Demonstrate exceptional practice skills with ability to deliver course content related to course objectives.

5.      Create an environment conducive to student learning in the classroom and laboratory utilizing a variety of instructional modalities.

6.      Maintain an organized, clean, and safe teaching environment obeying safety regulations where applicable.

7.      Maintain professionalism and classroom management with a diverse student population.

8.      Demonstrate accessibility in dealing with students’ needs individually and as a group that fosters student retention.

9.      Plan and conduct CHT certification workshops.

10.  Maintain, inventory and order dialysis equipment and supplies.

11.  Effectively evaluate student performance in classroom, laboratory and clinical area based on designated evaluation tools.

12.  Demonstrate knowledge of academic and student services policies.

13.  Demonstrate constructive planning and general effectiveness based on student and administrative evaluations.

14.  Submit and update all paperwork, required reports, and evaluations to students and administration as required.

15.  Performs other related duties as assigned.
