As a Lead Electrical Engineer in our Energy team based in Brisbane, you'll be at the forefront of delivering innovative electrical solutions that support critical infrastructure and Australia's energy transition.

You'll be supporting the delivery of electrical power systems analysis and design of large medium-voltage embedded networks across the defence, airports, hospitals, mining, and BESS sectors.

You'll be empowered to influence technical outcomes, strengthen client partnerships, mentor emerging engineers, and help grow Aurecon's electrical capability.

If you're looking for a role that combines technical excellence, client engagement, leadership development, and genuine career progression, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Do

  • Provide technical leadership across power system analysis, protection systems, substations, and electrical network design.

  • Partner with clients to understand their challenges and develop practical, future-focused solutions.

  • Work alongside multidisciplinary teams to deliver complex and meaningful projects.

  • Support business development activities, helping shape winning solutions and build trusted client relationships.

  • Mentor and coach engineers, contributing to a collaborative and high-performing team culture.

  • Drive technical innovation, continuous improvement and engineering excellence across projects.

  • Build your leadership profile, with a clear pathway to a future Team Leader position supporting and developing a growing team.

What You'll Bring

We're looking for someone who combines strong technical capability with a collaborative leadership style and a passion for shaping better outcomes.

  • Relevant qualifications in Electrical Engineering.

  • 10+ years' experience in electrical power systems analysis and design.

  • Experience delivering large medium-voltage electrical networks across sectors such as energy, mining, defence, airports, hospitals, utilities, or industrial infrastructure.

  • Technical expertise in power systems studies, primary and secondary substation design, protection systems, and electrical network design.

  • Strong understanding of the full project lifecycle, from feasibility and concept development through to detailed design, tendering, commissioning, and construction support.

  • Proven ability to build trusted client relationships and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence, guide, and inspire others.
