Key Deliverables and Responsibilities

Planning & Organizing:

1. Plan cleaning schedule according to the Room Status Sheet allocation.
2. Ensure Housekeeping trolley is stocked daily in a neat and organised manner.
3. Maintain strong knowledge of the local area to ensure you are equipped to answer guest enquiries and provide accurate directions

Operations:

Washing and Cleaning:

• Laundry Processing:
  • Sort soiled linens, towels, uniforms, and other items based on fabric type, color, and cleaning requirements.
  • Operate industrial washing machines and dryers to wash and dry laundry in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Pre-treat stains and heavily soiled items using appropriate chemicals and techniques.
• Handling Delicate Fabrics:
  • Follow specific washing instructions for delicate or special items such as uniforms, guest laundry, and high-quality linens.
  • Use the correct washing cycles, water temperatures, and cleaning solutions to ensure fabric preservation.
• Chemicals and Detergents:
  • Use the correct amount of detergents, softeners, and chemicals for each load of laundry.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals in compliance with safety protocols.

Quality Control:

• Inspection and Folding:
  • Inspect all washed items for stains, damage, or incomplete cleaning and rewash items if necessary.
  • Fold, iron, and neatly organize clean laundry, ensuring it meets the resort’s quality standards.
• Equipment Maintenance:
  • Maintain and clean washing machines, dryers, and other laundry equipment to ensure they operate smoothly.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or breakdowns to the Laundry Supervisor immediately.

Guest Laundry Service:

• Personalized Laundry Service:
  • Handle guest laundry requests by washing, drying, and folding guest clothes according to their specific instructions.
  • Ensure timely delivery of clean laundry back to guests, providing an exceptional level of service.

Health, Safety, and Hygiene:

• Health & Safety Compliance:
  • Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, including the safe handling of chemicals and following proper laundry procedures.
  • Wear protective gear and follow safety protocols to prevent injuries or accidents in the laundry area.
• Cleanliness:
  • Ensure that the laundry room and all equipment are kept clean, sanitized, and organized at all times.
  • Dispose of waste and lint from dryers according to proper procedures.

Coordination and Teamwork:

• Team Support:
  • Work closely with other members of the laundry and housekeeping teams to meet daily laundry quotas and schedules.
  • Assist other laundry staff with sorting, folding, and ironing when required.
• Communication:

• • Communicate any laundry-related issues or special requests to the Laundry Supervisor.
  • Report any damaged items or concerns about quality to the supervisor promptly.

Administration:

Use the duty shift checklists to ensure tasks are completed.
