Team Introduction:
The Regional & Product Policy team delivers advertising policy coverage across regions, product formats, and sensitive industry verticals. By combining regional expertise with regulated goods and product policy knowledge, the team ensures fast, consistent, and business-aligned policy decisions.

As a Policy Specialist Intern for LATAM you will assess risk, contribute to policy development, and support policy decision-making in one of TikTok’s most complex regulatory environments. You will work closely with global policy leads and cross-functional partners to help ensure policies are enforceable, aligned with product capabilities, and grounded in regulatory and platform integrity considerations.

As a project intern, you will have the opportunity to engage in impactful short-term projects that provide you with a glimpse of professional real-world experience. You will gain practical skills through on-the-job learning in a fast-paced work environment and develop a deeper understanding of your career interests.

Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze advertising policy documents with a focus on LATAM, including regional application and market-specific considerations.
- Evaluate regional business cases, product proposals, and new initiatives to identify potential risks and inform policy recommendations.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to support aligned and well-informed policy decision-making.
- Contribute to timely and coordinated responses to regional policy questions and escalations, in partnership with relevant stakeholders.
- Monitor regulatory developments, industry trends, and enforcement signals to support consistent and responsible policy application.
- Support policy development and iteration by identifying gaps, emerging risks, and opportunities for clarification or improvement.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing and alignment across regional and global teams to help maintain consistent standards and understanding.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Public Policy, Law, Political Science, or a related field
- Demonstrated ability to assess complex issues, exercise sound judgment, and contribute practical policy recommendations.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a global, cross-functional environment.
- Strong English written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain policy considerations clearly.
- Interest in digital platforms, advertising, and technology policy.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Internship or academic experience related to policy, legal research, or regulatory topics
- Exposure to advertising, media, or technology platforms.
- Familiarity with LATAM markets, regulatory environments, or public policy topics
- Experience working on policy research, analysis, or structured problem-solving.
