Key Responsibilities
• Coordinate end-to-end transport activities with customers, transport providers, ports, terminals, rail operators, depots and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
• Manage customer enquiries proactively, providing clear communication and regular updates, particularly when operational exceptions or delays occur.
• Take ownership of operational issues from identification through to resolution, ensuring positive customer outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, operational procedures, Chain of Responsibility (CoR) requirements and audit controls.
• Monitor operational performance against KPIs and identify opportunities to improve service, productivity and cost efficiency.
• Execute daily transport operations while effectively managing capacity, service levels and customer priorities.
• Work independently, exercising sound judgement and managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational performance and the customer experience.
• Support process optimisation and new business implementations where required.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Complete ad hoc operational and project-related tasks as directed by the Manager.
Position Specifications
• Minimum 2 years' experience in transport, logistics, supply chain or freight forwarding operations, preferably within containerised import/export or landside transport.
• Understanding of Australian container transport operations, including ports, terminals, empty container parks, rail and road transport networks.
• Experience coordinating with transport providers, customers, shipping lines and internal stakeholders.
• Strong customer service, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities and resolve operational issues in a timely and professional manner.
• High attention to detail with excellent organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Customer-focused with a proactive approach and a strong commitment to delivering exceptional service.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Experience using CargoWise One (CW1), the Integrated Cargo System (ICS) and 1-Stop is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of Australian transport legislation, Chain of Responsibility (CoR) obligations and container logistics will be highly regarded.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Outlook (PowerPoint desirable).
