The role

ALS Geochemistry is seeking Laboratory Workers to join the Geochemistry team in Malaga.

By joining our talent pool and registering your interest, you will be considered for upcoming opportunities.

The role is an entry-level position with full training provided. With projected growth within the laboratory, the complexity of the position will increase with time.

This is a casual position that involves fortnightly rotating shifts, including day, afternoon, and night shifts.

 

The day to day

  • Working safely in the laboratory environment, including chemical handling

  • Weighing, fusion and digestion of samples according to various methods

  • Developing an understanding of laboratory practice and scientific processes

  • Performing equipment checks and calibrations to ensure accuracy and precision of results

  • Working in a team

  • Exposure over time to more complex procedures and potential to progress to work involving instrumentation, including AAS and ICP-AES

The essentials

  • A Cert IV or Diploma in Laboratory Techniques or BSc will be highly regarded

  • Laboratory experience preferred but not essential

  • Ability to follow set procedures and attention to detail

  • Have adequate numerical, verbal and written communication skills

  • Highly task-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of effectively managing multiple responsibilities simultaneously.

  • An extremely high work ethic and ability to work well in a team

  • Capable of thriving in a fast-paced, manual handling and repetitive work environment.

  • Flexible and dependable, with the ability to meet the high demands of the department
