Job Description:

The Laboratory Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily laboratory operations at the gold mine, ensuring safe, efficient, and accurate analysis of ore, carbon, bullion, and solution samples from varying departments on the mine site. This role involves managing a team of laboratory technicians, ensuring quality control of assay results, and working closely with the Lab Superintendent to support customer and company needs.

Day to Day:

• Supervise and direct day-to-day activities of staff, ensuring productivity, accuracy, and adherence to safety protocols.

• 90% felt visibility in the field and interacting with reports

• Ensure laboratory procedures and quality control measures meet company and regulatory standards.

• Review, validate, and communicate test results in a consistent and clear format for operational and technical teams.

• Train, mentor, and develop laboratory personnel, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

• Manage laboratory consumables, equipment maintenance, and calibration schedules.

• Support customer projects and test work as required.

• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively direct and support a team of 6.

• Proven experience in gold assay techniques in Sample Prep, Wet Lab, and Fire Assay.

• Demonstrated ability to communicate technical results in a clear, concise, and user-friendly manner.

• Motivate, coach, develop direct reports to safely achieve business targets.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Proficiency in laboratory software, Microsoft, and data management systems an asset.

• Commitment to safety, quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Work Conditions & Location:

• Role is based at the Cripple Creek & Victor Mine, located in Teller County, Colorado.

• The Cripple Creek & Victor (CC&V) Mine site is located at elevations ranging from approximately 9,400 ft. to 10,600 ft. above sea level. Workers in this position are routinely exposed to conditions at various work sites throughout this range of elevations and must be physically capable of working at this altitude.

• Weather conditions can and do change frequently and can become severe at times.
