You will be performing tasks related to chemical laboratory activities supporting service delivery operations such as conducting laboratory tests of products, samples and systems; collect, submit and explains test results; always apply company and industry standards and safety practices; maintain equipment, materials and work areas in working order; support incident investigations; communicate with internal customers about specific projects and requests, mentor junior peers.
As a Laboratory Specialist , you will be responsible for:
- Understanding of performance of laboratory testing protocols for both research and Technical Support.
- Management of Laboratory Projects within the Laboratory.
- Generation, collection, and organization of laboratory data, to include detailed reporting of same for both field support work and research projects. Collaboration with HQ project teams.
- Ensuring that laboratory and lab equipment are clean, maintained and organized.
- Staying abreast of HSE and Waste disposal
- Assisting in project planning and review . May participate in customer interface
- Planing new equipment purchases as required
- Assessing results for applicability, validity and conformance to specifications for all employees of Laboratory.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering or mathematics
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, influencing and planning skills
- Understanding of Laboratory testing, analytical characterizations and measurement techniques.
- Knowledge of fluids used in the oil & gas industry.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Good project management skills
- Ability to work independently and in a cross-functional team, delivering project presentations
- Willing to travel domestically and internationally for training or product support, approximately 2-4 weeks per year.
- Have sound working knowledge in all lab functions
- Ability to build peer relationships as well as work independently
- Be action-oriented, ethical in value, and have a strong customer focus
- Ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues in all areas - capable of technical report writing.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving skill set executed against multidimensional challenges
- Delivering project presentations
- Working with minimum supervision, conferring with superior on unusual matters
