Q Analysts is seeking a Lab Test Automation Engineer to join our Client's Core Technologies team. Our Client's team applies a range of software, computer vision and robotics techniques to build systems and tools that enable accurate quality evaluation and regression testing of tracking systems and algorithms.

You will be responsible for operating and maintaining robotic measurement and motion capture systems. You will use these tools to capture high quality datasets. Collaborating with engineers and research scientist, you will learn and execute techniques for evaluating prototype VR systems, processing test data and documenting results.

Tasks include:

  • Organizing the lab rooms, preparing the equipment and also setup/calibrate OptiTrack system for ground truth data collection
  • Being able to read/use and write mainly python scripts but also c++ code experience is very useful since we use many c++ packages in the pipeline
  • Execute specific step-by-step initialization of test fixtures and motion capture systems and organize and upload excel and other datasets to file servers
  • Occasionally organize, pack, transport, unpack, setup and operate portable measurement system
  • Analyze and share results of tests them with the team that requested them. The analysis is highly dependent on the project and either we use the existing tools or we write our own for statistical analysis or whatever else is needed.

The data collection includes VR devices and mobile phones as well and data collection is focused on cameras as well as sensors.

Qualifications

  • Extreme attention to detail, organization
  • Comfortable with productivity software (Word, Excel, Email)
  • Familiar with executing simple scripts, data transfer on Linux devices
  • Comfortable with DMM, hand tools, simple debug of battery-powered devices

(optional) Familiar with operating motion capture systems or industrial robots 

Computer vision experience (a big plus would be camera calibration experience),

Robotics, Python, Computer Vision/Camera Calibration
