Kong Developer

• Designing, developing, and maintaining APIs using Kong.

• Creating custom plugins for Kong to extend its functionality, such as for authentication, authorization, or traffic control.
• Integrating Kong with existing APIs, services, and applications.
• Monitoring the API gateway, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring its performance and stability.
• Maintaining API specifications, documentation, and developer portals.
• Working closely with other developers, architects, and stakeholders.
• Keeping up-to-date with the latest Kong features, best practices, and security updates.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience using Kong.
• Deep understanding of Kong's architecture, functionalities, and API gateway management.
• Proficiency in RESTful API design, OpenAPI specifications, and microservices architectures.
• Strong experience with scripting languages like Lua or Python, and potentially other languages like JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Familiarity with DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, and tools like Git, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions.
• Experience with API testing, functional testing, test automation tools, and troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their integration with Kong.
• Understanding of API security tools and protocols like OAuth, OIDC, and RBAC.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams.
• Amenable to work in Ortigas (hybrid)
