ABOUT THE MISSION
As part of the evolution of our Spanish sales organization, we are creating a Key Account Representative role to take direct ownership of a portfolio of major national retail accounts in the sports and outdoor market.
You will join the Spanish Sales team and report directly to the Country Manager, taking full ownership of the commercial relationship with your accounts, from the seasonal business plan to in season execution. You will act as the main point of contact for your accounts, working closely with merchandising and marketing to bring the right offer to the table.
This is a role with real autonomy: you will manage your accounts end to end, building long term, trust based partnerships while defending Columbia's business and margins.
HOW YOU’LL MAKE THE DIFFERENCE
- Manage and grow long term relationships with major national key accounts, acting as a true business partner rather than a transactional supplier.
- Build and negotiate seasonal commercial plans (assortment, pricing, promotions) that balance ambitious growth with healthy margins.
- Use sales data and market insight to build fact based arguments, identify opportunities, and support your negotiations.
- Run rigorous in season follow up: track performance, adjust plans, and report on business results.
- Adapt your commercial approach to each account's culture and way of working, across a portfolio with very different profiles.
- Collaborate closely with merchandising and marketing teams to secure the right product, pricing, and promotional support for each account.
- Take full ownership of your accounts, working with a high degree of autonomy while staying closely aligned with the Country Manager.
YOU ARE
- Commercially driven and fact based, comfortable defending margin and building a case on data rather than instinct alone.
- A natural relationship builder, able to earn trust with very different personalities and account cultures.
- Resilient and persistent: you don't take a first no for an answer and know how to come back with a different angle.
- Autonomous and confident taking ownership, comfortable working with a high degree of independence.
- A strong team player, especially in the way you represent the brand to external partners.
- Structured and pragmatic, able to combine relationship building with rigorous data analysis.
YOU HAVE
- Around 3 to 5 years of experience as a Key Account Representative, Key Account Executive, or similar role managing large retail accounts (experience limited to field sales accounts will not be a fit for this role).
- Experience in sportswear, outdoor, fashion, or another seasonal business is preferred; what matters most is experience managing large retail chains or similar key accounts.
- Strong analytical skills: comfortable calculating margins and discounts and turning data into clear commercial arguments.
- Excellent relationship and negotiation skills, with the ability to adapt to different stakeholders.
- Native level Spanish and a professional level of English.
- Based in or able to commute to Barcelona.
