The Mechanic at Jamestown NY is responsible for the preventative and reactive

maintenance for a fleet of 20 trucks operating out of Jamestown, Allegany and Dunkirk.

Operating out of the Jamestown shop and reporting to the plant manager, this position

is critical for the operational success of Heidelberg’s Southern Tier business.

What You'll Be Doing

 Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on heavy-duty diesel equipment

 Inspect and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems

 Ensure equipment is safe, reliable, and compliant with company standards

 Maintain accurate service records and documentation

 Collaborate with team members to prioritize and complete work efficiently

 Strong commitment to safety and preventative maintenance practices

 Ability to work independently and as part of a team

 Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures

Conditions of Employment

 Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical

examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check

 Some positions require FMCSA regulated ongoing drug and alcohol testing

Work Environment

 Role operates primarily in environments where the conditions include moving

mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated

noise level
