ITI Trainee (Trade Apprentice) - Fabrication

Basic fabrication and welding, tasks while learning and gaining practical experience under the supervision of senior technicians and engineers.

Production & Fabrication Support

• Assist in operating machines such as cutting, bending, drilling, grinding, or welding equipment.

• Support in metal fabrication, component preparation, and assembly activities.

• Perform basic measurements using Dumply level, Laser cross liners, Theodolite, Universal fillet gauge, etc.

• Prepare materials and tools required for daily production.

Quality & Safety Compliance

• Conduct basic visual inspection of fabricated parts.

• Follow standard work instructions, SOPs, and quality guidelines.

• Maintain 5S practices (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain).

• Ensure compliance with safety rules—PPE usage, housekeeping, near‑miss reporting.

• Assist operators/technicians in routine machine checks.

• Report abnormalities, breakdown indicators, unusual noises, etc.

• Fill daily production logs, checklists, and material movement slips.

Learning & Skill Development

• Attend technical training sessions, toolbox meetings, and skill assessments.

• Learn fabrication processes, welding basics, machining operations, and safety standards.

• Participate in Kaizen, 5S, and continuous improvement activities.

Required Qualifications

• ITI (Fitter / Welder / Turner / Machinist / Sheet Metal / Electrician / Fabrication or relevant trade).

• Completed ITI through NCVT/SCVT.

Skills & Competencies

• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes.

• Ability to read simple drawings (added advantage).

• Good hands‑on practical skills.

• Discipline, punctuality, and teamwork.
