Job description

The NTU Office of Commercial and Auxiliary Services (OCAS) is responsible for the strategic planning, management, and marketing of commercial real estate, hospitality (including Nanyang Executive Centre) and auxiliary services (car parks and shuttle bus services) in NTU main campus and NTU@one-north.

The Nanyang Executive Centre (NEC) is located at the NTU Main Campus. It features 150 guestrooms and aims to offer a premier venue for corporate training, retreats and private events. We are looking for an experienced and service-oriented IT manager to oversee system operations, integrations, and technology enablement during NEC’s ongoing refurbishment and lead up to full opening.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Systems Administration & Operation

  • Partner with NEC’s Brand IT Team and NTU’s Centre for IT Services (CITS) to design, implement and maintain a resilient network architecture.

  • Oversee daily operation of all NEC IT systems including PMS, POS, CRS, telecommunication, internet, and back-office systems.

  • Ensure system uptime, reliability, and data integrity across all NEC functions.

  • Manage server administration, data backups, and network configurations.

  • Monitor system performance and proactively resolve issues to minimise downtime.

2. User Support & Training

  • Develop and maintain functional documentation, SOPs and training materials for all NEC systems.

  • Provide technical support to all NEC functions, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues in a timely manner.

  • Coordinate user access rights, password controls, and compliance with IT policies.

  • Provide staff training and systems onboarding to ensure smooth adoption of IT tools and cybersecurity awareness.

3. Cybersecurity & Data protection

  • Implement and enforce data security protocols, antivirus measures, and system access controls.

  • Ensure compliance with PDPA (Personal Data Protection Act) and required information security standards.

  • Maintain regular updates and patch management for all systems and software.

4. Vendor & Contract Management

  • Liaise with external vendors for system maintenance, upgrades, and technical support/troubleshooting.

  • Review and manage IT-related service contracts, ensuring optimal service and cost efficiency.

  • Evaluate new technology solutions and make recommendations to management.

5. Project Implementation

  • Work closely with NEC team to analyse business needs to translate them into system requirements.

  • Support NEC management team with technological insights to align IT strategies with overall business goals and objectives.

  • Lead IT-related projects including system upgrades, new software implementation, and integration with third-party solutions.

  • Coordinate with the brand IT team or corporate office on group initiatives and audits.

  • Support technology requirements for events, conferences, and new operational setups.

6. Budgeting and Asset Management

  • Prepare and manage the annual IT budget, ensuring cost control and resource optimisation.

  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all IT hardware, software licenses, and related assets.

  • Ensure preventive maintenance schedules and timely replacement of aging equipment.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related disciplines.

  • Minimum 6 years of relevant IT experience, with a significant portion dedicated to supporting PMS systems in the hospitality industry.

  • Hands-on experience with Opera integrations.

  • Expertise in hospitality system integrations, particularly Oracle Opera PMS and interface management.

  • Proficiency in network administration (LAN/WAN, wireless setups, firewalls).

  • Familiarity with hospitality IT standards and third-party hospitality solutions.

  • Demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with user departments and vendors.

  • Strong troubleshooting, issue-tracking, and documentation skills.
