Job description

As the IT Business Value Partner, you will serve as a strategic partner responsible for enabling enterprise portfolio planning, investment alignment, and technology roadmap development across the organization. This role collaborates with business, finance, product, operations, architecture, and technology leaders to translate strategic objectives into actionable roadmaps and prioritized portfolios. Working closely with senior leadership, you will facilitate portfolio planning, investment decisions, governance, and executive reporting while ensuring initiatives align with organizational priorities, available capacity, and long-term business strategy. The role helps mature enterprise portfolio management practices by improving planning processes, governance, transparency, and delivery predictability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build trusted relationships with business leaders to understand strategic priorities, operational challenges, value drivers, and technology needs.
  • Lead portfolio prioritization across strategic, tactical, and operational initiatives.
  • Drive integrated planning for capital, human resources, and infrastructure to support evolving portfolio demand.
  • Evaluate project scope, dependencies, and resource assumptions to improve investment efficiency and delivery feasibility.
  • Partner with LOB, Finance, IT, Product, and Operations leaders to recalibrate portfolio direction as business demand shifts.
  • Deliver executive-level insights through portfolio health metrics, trend analysis, ROI and decision-ready reporting.
  • Identify systemic constraints and capacity risks early; recommend mitigation strategies to protect delivery commitments.
  • Advance PMO methodologies and planning practices to improve repeatability, transparency, and execution quality.
  • Ensure compliance with PLC and SDLC controls, corporate policy, and regulatory requirements while enabling delivery agility.
  • Lead ambiguity-to-clarity efforts by defining direction, governance expectations, and measurable outcomes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related discipline (or equivalent work experience).
  • 6 years of experience in banking or financial services, including IT portfolio or program management.
  • Experience in portfolio management, strategic program leadership, enterprise PMO, or technology-business planning.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and facilitate decisions across complex stakeholder environments.
  • Strong financial and operational acumen, including capacity planning and portfolio trade-off analysis.
  • Proven ability to develop executive reporting, communications, and process/user-adoption documentation.
  • Proven competency managing complex project plans, timelines, budgets, and critical paths.
  • Experience building executive dashboards and translating portfolio data into strategic recommendations.
  • Deep understanding of governance, risk/compliance, and delivery lifecycle controls in regulated environments.
  • Experience with ServiceNow SPM.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • PREFERRED: Direct experience in Consumer, Commercial, Institutional, and / or Private Wealth banking lines of business.

  • Enterprise roadmaps accurately reflect business strategy and investment priorities.
  • Track and communicate expected versus realized business value, ensuring technology investments deliver measurable outcomes aligned to enterprise priorities.
  • Portfolio investment decisions are aligned with organizational strategy and available capacity.
  • Improved alignment of portfolio investments to business outcomes.
  • Increased delivery predictability through proactive capacity and dependency management.
  • Higher portfolio throughput and quality with fewer initiation-stage delays.
  • Strong executive confidence in planning, reporting, and governance effectiveness

Compensation Range:

$98,208 - $144,705
