IT Area Lead

Role Summary

As IT Area Lead, you will lead multiple engineering teams responsible for delivering reliable, scalable, and high-quality technology solutions. You will play a critical role in driving operational excellence, strengthening stakeholder partnerships, and enabling the growth of our technology organization.

Working closely with local and international colleagues, you will help shape technology strategy, foster engineering craftsmanship, and ensure our products and services continue to create value for our customers and business.

About the Team

You will join ING's Retail & Banking Technology organization, working with diverse and talented teams across the Philippines and Europe. The team is focused on delivering innovative and resilient technology solutions that support the Italy market while contributing to ING's broader technology transformation journey.

Required Skills

Leadership & People Development

• Proven experience leading and growing high-performing engineering organizations.
• Strong coaching and mentoring capabilities with a passion for developing technical talent.
• Experience building talent pipelines and scaling teams in a global environment.

Technology & Delivery

• Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Previous hands-on experience as a technology engineer.
• Strong understanding of technology delivery, operational excellence, and service reliability.
• Experience driving continuous improvement and engineering best practices.
• Knowledge of retail banking products is advantageous.

Stakeholder & Business Management

• Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
• Strong communication and presentation abilities.
• Experience managing budgets, resource planning, and organizational growth.
• Ability to effectively lead in multicultural and geographically distributed environments.

Strategic Leadership

• Experience leading transformation initiatives and organizational change.
• Ability to balance business priorities, delivery quality, operational risk, and team development.
• Passion for technology and keeping up with emerging industry trends.
