The In-Room Dining Shift Lead supports the daily operation of the department by assisting the Food & Beverage Manager – In-Room Dining with shift organization, communication, guest service, and departmental standards. This is a working position that actively participates in daily service while helping ensure prompt, efficient, and professional service of food and beverages to hotel guests in their rooms.
Some of your responsibilities include:
- Maintain the hotel standards of service etiquette.
- Be familiar with ticketing and cash handling.
- Ensure that orders are checked for presentation and completeness.
- Assist with training and onboarding in room dining staff and make sure that all standards are being followed.
- Ensure that the stations, service carts, and trays are cleaned, stocked, and organized.
- Work alongside the team during service while providing operational support throughout the shift.
- Inform and communicate to your team the current and upcoming hotel functions and events.
- Coordinate with the Front Office department the delivery of guest amenities.
- Help organize storage areas and maintain cleanliness throughout the department
- Monitor and maintain proper operational supplies.
- Accountable for maintaining and monitoring that all employees follow cash handling procedures.
What You Bring
- 1 year of experience in a similar or supervisory role is preferred.
- Able to prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Able to learn, retain, and present product, menu, and allergy information to guests.
- Knowledge of or ability to learn the restaurant point-of-sale system.
- Knowledge of food & wine presentation.
- Excellent written communication and presentation skills.
- Highly motivated and flexible, with the ability to take initiative.
- Flexible schedule, able to work mornings, nights, holidays, and weekends when needed.
- Food Handler and Alcohol Awareness Certifications (if applicable).
