Job Summary

Full-time permanent role with responsibility for managing the tax affairs of the EMEA and APAC region from a planning, advisory and compliance oversight perspective (outsourced). PE backed company. Hybrid role – minimum 3 x days a week in the office.

Job Overview

We are looking for an International Tax Manager to join our Finance team. In this role, you’ll act as number two to the Head of Tax EMEA & APAC from a planning, advisory and compliance & reporting perspective. You will partner closely with Finance, Treasury, Workday, Legal, M&A and external advisors. The role is a good fit for someone who not only has a solid compliance and reporting background but has the motivation and desire to lead and deliver high impact strategic/advisory/restructuring projects. Must be able to take full ownership of their work and be driven to take projects through to completion.

What You’ll Do


Management of tax planning, compliance, advisory, process and internal controls for the EMEA and APAC regions.

  • Work closely with advisors to identify risks and opportunities across the group.
  • Close oversight of outsourced UK corporation tax compliance and year-end provisions and management of UK anti-hybrid position.
  • Manage outsourced CBCR, Pillar 2 and TP compliance.
  • Oversight of the quarterly Group UK VAT return prepared by the Group Reporting team and work closely with Workday team to maintain accuracy of the VAT returns and continuously improve the process.
  • Regular evaluation and monitoring of processes and controls from a SAO and CCO perspective.
  • Assist with commercial teams on contracting arrangements and supply chain VAT planning to avoid irrecoverable local VAT on international projects.
  • Ownership of legal entity rationalisation tasks and internal reorganisations/local mergers/liquidations etc. across EMEA/APAC. Take from idea all the way to legal execution/accounting entries.
  • Assessment of tax risks of potential transactions (UK and International).
  • Management of EMEA/APAC transfer pricing policy and oversight of calculations.
  • Support tax structuring and tax diligence on new business and M&A activity.
  • Partner with Head of US Tax on company tax strategy and US related tax filings
  • Provide tax advice to local subsidiaries in the EMEA and APAC regions across Corporate and International Tax and VAT.
  • Cash tax forecast modelling for cash flow planning purposes and ownership of QIP/CT 61 calculations
  • Ownership of local/master files
  • Maintain relationships with tax authorities. 
  • Identify potential process efficiencies & contribute towards a high standard, continuous improvement culture.
  • Ad hoc tasks and projects as required.

The above forms the main areas of responsibility for this role, but it is not exhaustive and it should be noted that duties may change over time, so the need for flexibility is key and the job-holder will be expected to co-operate with reasonable changes as required

3-4+ years PQE of experience with a recognised UK professional qualification (CTA/ ACA/CA) or overseas equivalent

  • Demonstrable success in a within a large professional services firm and/or multinational
  • Self-driven with proven success taking projects from start to finish without delays
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK and International tax
  • Ability to multi-task effectively without losing quality. Tenacious, persistent and highly motivated with advanced analytical skills
  • VAT experience desirable
  • Open to feedback and always looking to learn and grow
