Intern - Software Engineer - Nuclear Engineering Tools F/H

As a key contributor to our engineering software team, you will play a key role in directly supporting the delivery of high-quality, safety-compliant engineering solutions that drive innovation and efficiency in the global energy sector.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Understand the current automatic testing infrastructure, with a specific focus on the web user interface (UI) and data visualization components.
• Collect and summarise team requirements for the testing infrastructure's UI/UX (User eXperience) functionalities.
• Benchmark the latest available web technologies and frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, Angular, etc.) to replace the existing architecture and propose the most appropriate and maintainable solution for the business.
• Implement, test, validate, and document the agreed-upon modern UI solution.

Profil

Education Qualification

• Currently pursuing or recently completed an education in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math).

Technical competencies and experience

• Familiar with standard modern software development tools and practices, such as source code management (Git), unit testing, and continuous integration.
• Proficiency in core web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript), modern frontend web frameworks (e.g., React, Vue.js, Angular, Blazor, etc.) and backend runtimes such as Node.js.
• Familiarity with programming/scripting languages like Python or C# is beneficial.
• A general understanding of engineering disciplines, such as Thermodynamics, is a strong plus.

Behavioural and Leadership competencies

• Seek to understand problems thoroughly before implementing solutions. Ask questions to clarify requirements and needs.
• Voice opinions and presents clear rationale. Use data or factual evidence to influence technical decisions.
• Willing to work with global international teams.
