About Bright Harbor

Bright Harbor helps people recover after natural disasters by providing expert guidance and innovative digital tools that streamline and accelerate the recovery process. We make disaster recovery faster, easier, and more affordable, empowering our clients to rebuild with confidence.

In just four months since our launch, we’ve supported hundreds of families and businesses, helping them navigate more than $400M in recovery spend effectively.

Position Overview

We’re looking for an organized and problem-solving intern to help build a system that tracks and organizes critical disaster-related information. This role is about more than just research—it’s about creating a structured, repeatable process that ensures people impacted by disasters get the information they need, when they need it.

You’ll develop a system to monitor and organize news updates, financial relief programs, emergency alerts, and recovery resources. Using tools like Notion, AI-powered research assistants, and automation platforms, you’ll create a process that helps us quickly respond to disasters with the latest and most useful information.

This is an ideal role for someone who is highly organized, enjoys solving complex problems, and wants to work at a mission-driven startup. There is also potential for a full-time role depending on performance.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Create a system to track disaster updates like news, funding, and policy changes.

  • Organize and categorize information to make it easy to find and use.

  • Use AI and automation tools to collect and structure information efficiently.

  • Set up workflows in Notion and other digital platforms for scalability.

  • Test and refine the system during real disasters to improve effectiveness.

  • Document workflows and create a playbook for future disaster response.

  • Ensure the system is simple, adaptable, and easy to use.

Who You Are

  • Organized and detail-oriented, with a talent for structuring complex information.

  • Comfortable using digital tools like Notion, AI assistants, and automation platforms (or willing to learn).

  • Interested in mission-driven work, crisis response, or improving how information is used during emergencies.

  • Able to problem-solve, work independently, and think strategically about how to improve systems.

Why Join Bright Harbor?

  • Climate Adaptation Focused: Be part of a company working to address one of the most critical issues of our time—adapting our communities to climate change.

  • Impactful Work: Join a mission-driven team that’s making a tangible difference in people’s lives.

  • Performance Culture: Be part of a world-class team with a strong culture that values performance, integrity, and creativity.

  • Growth Opportunities: Play a key role in the company’s growth, with ample opportunities for career advancement.
