Operations Excellence department is responsible for site productivity improvement, planning and allocating manufacturing specialist resources, managing budgets and procurement of indirect materials, training production-related personnel, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Additionally, it promotes Seagate branding, manages government relations, and engages in community responsibilities.
The following years, we are focusing on advanced robotics, AI-driven automation, and real factory deployment of next-generation solutions (including embodied and hybrid robots).
About the role - you will:
Industrial Engineering and Shop-floor Improvement
• Conduct on-site process observation, operation analysis, layout review, material flow path analysis, workload assessment, and workstation utilization analysis on production lines.
• Identify improvement opportunities to enhance production line efficiency.
• Support before-and-after comparison and benefit verification for improvement activities.
AI Application Support
• Support the identification of AI application scenarios based on real shop-floor pain points.
• Support AI project promotion and tracking.
• Support PoC testing, data preparation, feedback collection, and result tracking.
About you:
• Undergraduate or master’s student majoring in Industrial Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes, production line operations, and shop-floor improvement.
• Strong problem-solving capability and hands-on mindset.
• Interest in using AI tools to support factory productivity improvement.
Your experience includes:
Required Industrial Engineering Knowledge
• Proficient in applying industrial engineering tools.
• Familiar with basic lean manufacturing concepts and related tools.
Data and AI Capabilities
• Basic data analysis capability.
• Experience with AI tools and developer skills is preferred.
