Import Supervisor

Essential Job Functions

• Plans, directs, and controls import activities on a day-to-day basis
• Develops and maintains relationships with key customers and key suppliers resolving concerns, interacting with customer service, operations, and sales personnel to resolve any conflicts on a timely basis.
• Supervises import documentation.
• Oversee obtaining and processing of Customs release and other government agency releases as appropriate, arranging delivery, and invoicing the import accounts to their SOP
• Supervise coordination of the release of goods from the carrier, customs or other governmental agency examinations that may be required.
• Other duties as assigned

Other Skills & Abilities

• Understanding of Customs regulations, tariffs and interpretations
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Must have excellent client service skills, responding promptly and professionally to client needs and requests for service and assistance.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using units of U.S. currency, weight, volume and distance measurements
• Experience with word processing, spreadsheets, email and various PC based software.
• Must be detail oriented with good organizational skills

Physical Requirements

• Position may require extended periods of sitting, computer use, standing and walking. 
• Some light lifting may be required in some instances

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum 5 years related experience.
• Minimum 3 years industry experience preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES

• Professional certification may be required in some areas.
