About this opportunity

Ensuring legal compliance, cost control, and overall efficiency across our UK supply chain’s international import and export flows, this role is responsible for managing end‑to‑end import and export planning, compliance, costing, reconciliation, and associated administrative activities. The scope includes finished goods (cans, ends, scrap) as well as packaging, coils, materials, and production‑related components. You will also provide support to the wider supply chain as required by the business.

Main Responsibilities

Legal compliance

Prepare application documents for inward and outward processing regimes. Maintain files, databases, and reporting (daily/weekly/monthly) for monitoring inward/outward processing regime import/export activities. Prepare application documentation for obtaining Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) and Customs Comprehensive Guarantee (CCG) status. Manage correspondence for temporary import/export permissions with relevant chambers and authorities (Customs, Banks, Ministry of Finance). Coordinate export documentation and permissions for scrap material shipments under tolling arrangements, including interactions with directorates, export organisations, industry and commerce chambers, laboratories, and quarantine authorities. Prepare and obtain approvals for Chamber of Industry and/or Commerce documentation. Prepare and follow up on Export Incentive Certificate applications. Track all export/import files to ensure full legal compliance. Maintain tracking reports for temporary export and temporary import activities. Define the correct HS/GTIP codes for all imported and exported goods. Prepare and submit Investment Incentive Certificate applications as required. Prepare applications for Investment Incentive Bonded Site permissions, including assembly/installation approval. Manage ongoing legal compliance follow‑up activities related to Investment Incentive Certificates. Coordinate IPR (Inward Processing Regime) certification follow‑up with customs brokers and authorities. Maintain documentation and follow up on insurance claim‑related activities involving shipping lines, hauliers, insurance brokers, loss adjusters, and legal entities (police, banks, customs).

Export administration

Plan and coordinate export shipment vehicles/containers with 3PL partners, sea freight forwarders, shipping agencies, and the UK Supply Chain Team. Prepare export documentation (invoices, packing lists, Certificates of Origin, ATR1, quality certificates, consulate certificates) and ensure associated reconciliations. Produce e‑invoices, AVIEXP, and EDI documents when required, ensuring full coherence with Crown’s management systems. Prepare bill of lading and CMR instructions for carriers. Share original export documents with customers and arrange dispatch of originals to the importer. File and archive customs declarations securely for accounting and audit requirements. Manage Letters of Credit (L/C) applications and ensure compliance. Process haulier invoices, confirming correct rates in SAP and ensuring purchase orders are completed and paid at the correct cost. Oversee haulier performance alongside sourcing teams, ensuring quality standards and managing complaints through to resolution. Ensure optimal loading efficiency across local distribution centres to maintain consistent outbound flow performance.
