Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Hydrology & Drainage Engineer to join our team! In this role, you will get to design and support the planning, design, and analysis of advanced stormwater and flood mitigation systems across high-profile infrastructure and master planning projects in the Middle East, with a focus on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
What You'll Be Doing:
Conduct hydrological and hydraulic studies for flood risk assessment, stormwater management, and infrastructure design.
Design stormwater drainage structures including culverts, bridges, channels, swales, ponds, and stormwater networks.
Contribute to the planning and implementation of sustainable drainage systems (SuDS), erosion protection, and flood control solutions.
Perform rainfall and runoff analysis using meteorological and morphological data.
Utilize industry-standard hydrology and modeling tools to develop innovative and efficient design solutions.
Review and ensure the quality and timely delivery of design packages from pre-concept through to IFC.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to integrate drainage systems into wider infrastructure designs.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
6+ years of relevant engineering experience.
Proficiency in PC software packages commonly used in hydrology and storm drainage design.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Proven experience in major flood mitigation and stormwater management schemes for roads and master plan developments, especially in KSA and the Middle East.
Strong technical background in hydrology, hydraulic modeling, and drainage infrastructure design.
Proficiency in software tools such as: HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, WMS, HYFRAN+, InfoWorks ICM, Civil 3D, Bentley Suite, ArcGIS Pro, Global Mapper, MS Office.
Knowledge of sustainability criteria for drainage systems (SuDS).
